MY FUNDRAISING

My current fundraising and charities I am directly fundraising for myself.
I currently have multiple fundraising projects on the go at any one time, these are detailed in the 'Fundraising Projects' section at the top of the page in the menu.
As well as the fundraising projects, I personally do fundraising challenges myself and usually all in the name of the fundraising legacy WWMD - What Would Mum Do? which I set up in memory of my Mum who passed away in 2017.

Several thousand pounds has already been raised through this legacy, and a large chunk of that was from in memoriam donations from the time of the funeral itself.

In 2018 I took part in the inaugural GB Ultras Mt Snowdon 50 mile ultra with 17,000ft of climb as the first remembrance challenge in the 'Return to Snowdon' story/series, which has an accompanying blog.
The blog follows the 'Return To Snowdon' of my Mum as her ashes are spread in the valley below Snowdon as requested by my Mum. Snowdonia was a place of many family holidays and happy memories for us all.

The 'Return to Snowdon' blog and story covers my subsequent remembrance challenges and returns to Snowdon to raise money for charity.

The 2018 fundraising challenge raised money for Lupus UK which is a condition my Mum suffered from. And also fund raised for the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team, who are a group of unpaid volunteers who work on and around the mountains of Snowdonia rescuing walkers and climbers on an almost daily basis, putting their own lives at risk in the process.

I will often do other fund raisers during the year also where possible or donate to the fund raising challenges of others, as I like to give back were possible.

In June 2019 I set myself a Snowdon 7 in 7 challenge as my yearly remembrance challenge This entailed 7 ascents of Snowdon via differing routes over 7 days. I successfully completed that challenge and raised funds again for the Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team. I did whilst staying with my Dad at the farmhouse Mum and Dad stayed on their last holidays together.

Chapter Seven on the 'A Return to Snowdon' blog details the challenge and how it went. It was a great week, and so nice to visit Mums spot again and to have the opportunity to be in the area fund raising for a good local cause for the week.
