12 Days of Christmas & Reflection
An annual fundraiser

The 12 Days of Christmas & Reflection is an annual fundraiser where you pledge to run, cycle or walk each of the 12 days and use the time to try and relax and reflect on all that you have at this time of year to be thankful for.

It is a time to reflect and consider those possibly less fortunate than ourselves and to consider maybe our elderly neighbors or people on their own at this time of year.

A voluntary donation for each of the 12 days is requested or a one off donation to cover the 12 days, and the money goes direct into a dedicated fundraising page for a selected charity.

It generally raises £200 - £300 for a selected charity or charities each year.
Seaside24
Yearly team fundraising challenge
First created in 2014 by myself this is a seaside themed fundraising team challenge which usually involves at least 24 hours of effort and endurance, and is usually held in Autumn.

In it's first 3 years it has raised over £1500 for several charities each year. It wasn't held in 2017 due to injury and ill health on my part.

In 2018 the format was borrowed by the company I used to work for as a fundraiser, titled the Bliss Runners 24. It raised roughly £700, a lot of which was raised via my contacts and friends, I even ran it and covered 49 miles in 24 hours even though it was only relay format. I chose to run extra laps with others as support.

Run or Cake
An ongoing weekly charity running group based on Facebook.
I'm a paragraph. Click here to add your own text and edit me. It's easy.
Run or Cake is a unique forfeit based fundraising system that I created and preside over. It is based on Facebook and is a private group of 90+ friendly and committed regular runners based in the North West of the UK.

All the runners pledge a certain amount of runs at the beginning of the week and as the week progresses they log their runs with either the group Administrator (Myself) or one of a selection of Adminions (Private joke) who oversee their own little groups of runners and log their runs for the week.

At the end of the week any runners who failed to complete their pledge hold their hand up and pay a 50p per missed run forfeit to our group fundraising page on VirginMoneyGiving that pays the money direct to our five charities.

The group has successfully raised over £8500+ in it's 4 years so far, and all from individual 50p forfeits and the odd little fundraising run/challenge undertaken by some members. Some members even offer up a bonus donation when they achieve a new run PB as they want to spread a little of the happiness to those that need.

The group have a friendly and fun dynamic and everybody gets on well as they are all invites only as regards membership in order to maintain a good friendly group.

Runners have found that the pledge system keeps them motivated and committed to their runs year round and it has often helped them vastly.

Run or Cake also has a merchandise range for members to wear while training or at events and are often seen wearing them at major events. A percentage of the sales in donated back to our charities by the supplier.

The group also have a #CakersOnTour were they will post pictures back to the group of them wearing their #Cakers tops at events or at far flung places around the World while out running at events or on holidays.

Gru's Gruesome 10k
A rare and Gru'some beast!
The Gru's Gruesome 10k is a a rare event through the rough and tough and often gruesome terrain of some of Seftons sand dune range. A voluntary donation is made by the runners to the fundraising pot. Runners are led by run leaders through the route on a roughly 5k out and back with a refreshments pitstop at roughly halfway, a great photo op. Runners are then led back through the dunes on a 5k return leg. There are no medals or t-shirts, just pride at surviving!
